How This Equipment Works
Vbeam Perfecta is a 595nm pulsed dye laser (PDL). This wavelength is rapidly absorbed by the hemoglobin in red blood cells, selectively targeting vessels.
The absorbed light converts to heat that is transferred to the vessel wall; as the heated vessel contracts and coagulates, this helps improve dilated vessels and redness. The pulse width is adjustable from 1.5 to 40 milliseconds to match the caliber and depth of the vessels.
A DCD cooling device sprays a burst of cryogen to chill the epidermis just before each pulse, protecting the surface. The cooling is adjusted in step with the treatment intensity, maintaining a consistent level of protection.
Beyond vascular lesions, it is used broadly for pigmented and non-pigmented lesions and holds FDA clearance for multiple indications.

How long does the treatment take?
It takes about 10 to 20 minutes for the full face. When only localized lesions are treated, it finishes even sooner.
Does it hurt? Is anesthesia used?
Cryogen is sprayed simultaneously with each pulse to reduce the heat, so most treatments proceed without anesthesia. A momentary snap like a rubber band flick is felt, and numbing cream is used for sensitive areas.
What about recovery and returning to daily life?
Redness and mild swelling may last about a day after treatment, and you can wash your face the same day. Where thicker vessels were treated at stronger settings, purplish spots may remain for a few days; avoid saunas, alcohol, and sun exposure during this period.
How many sessions, and how often?
A typical plan is one cycle of 3 to 5 sessions at 3-to-4-week intervals. The number of sessions is adjusted according to the extent of the redness and the caliber of the vessels.
Can it be combined with other procedures?
When pigment is also present, treatment is planned in alternation with laser toning. If acne inflammation is active, the usual sequence is to treat the inflammation first and then address the red marks afterward.
