How This Equipment Works
Juvelook is a collagen booster combining microparticles of PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid), a biodegradable polymer, with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA). One vial contains 50mg of lyophilized powder, composed of 42.5mg PDLLA and 7.5mg HA.
Before use it is fully hydrated with sterile water or saline and then injected into the dermis. Sufficient hydration and small, divided injections are what determine the outcome with this product.
The PDLLA particles are round on the outside with a porous mesh structure inside, so they break down gradually from within. During this process the change in surrounding acidity is gentle, giving the particles relatively high tissue compatibility.
As the particles degrade, fibroblasts are stimulated and the body's own collagen production is induced, while the HA provides hydration immediately after injection. Since collagen builds up over several weeks, the changes also appear in stages.

How long does the procedure take?
The injection itself is completed within 30 minutes. Add 20 to 30 minutes for numbing cream application and waiting, plus preparation time to fully hydrate the product. It is best to allow about an hour for the whole visit.
Is it painful? How is anesthesia handled?
Because the product is injected in small amounts at multiple points in the dermis, there is a stinging sensation. Numbing cream is applied for 20 to 30 minutes beforehand to reduce pain. Using a fully hydrated preparation also reduces the stiff sensation during injection.
When can I return to daily life?
Redness and slight swelling appear for about 1 to 2 days, and daily activities are possible immediately after the procedure. Any bruising usually disappears within a week. For a few days afterward, avoid saunas, alcohol, and strenuous exercise, and pay attention to moisturizing and sun protection.
How many sessions, and at what interval?
A standard course is 3 sessions at 4-week intervals. Sessions are spaced at least 4 weeks apart, and since collagen builds gradually, it is best to complete the course before assessing the change. Maintenance treatments are then planned according to your condition.
Can it be combined with other procedures?
It works by a different mechanism from PN-based boosters such as Rejuran, so the two are often used together with time in between. Combining it with lifting devices or botulinum toxin helps improve elasticity. If you have an underlying condition such as an autoimmune disease, this should be checked at the pre-treatment consultation.
