Oligio is a lifting device developed in Korea that uses 6.78MHz monopolar radiofrequency. Resistive heat generated as the radiofrequency passes through the tissue from a single active electrode warms the dermis.
Heated dermal collagen contracts immediately, and the stimulated fibroblasts produce new collagen fibers. This remodeling process continues over several months, helping improve skin elasticity and density.
To protect the epidermis, cooling operates simultaneously with each pulse, and the tips are exchanged according to the treatment area to adjust the delivery area and depth.
Unlike ultrasound, radiofrequency spreads heat evenly over a broad area, so it is used to address overall loss of elasticity rather than localized sagging.
