Binds to nerve endings
The injected ingredient selectively attaches to the endings of the motor nerves that move the muscle. It acts around the injection site rather than spreading through the bloodstream to the whole body.
Botulinum Toxin in Dermatology
It is best known as a treatment for the expression muscles, but by varying the injection depth and dose, it can be applied to very different concerns such as pores, sebum, and the jawline. Here is how Lumiin Dermatology actually uses Botox in practice.
Common Misunderstanding
Botox is not the name of a single procedure — it is closer to a tool whose results change with injection depth and dose planning. Let's start with three common misconceptions.

How It Works
Muscles contract when they receive signaling molecules released from nerve endings. Botox inhibits the release of these molecules, temporarily reducing the contraction force of the targeted muscle.

The injected ingredient selectively attaches to the endings of the motor nerves that move the muscle. It acts around the injection site rather than spreading through the bloodstream to the whole body.
Inside the nerve ending, it cleaves the protein involved in letting the vesicles that carry signaling molecules fuse with the cell membrane. As a result, less signal is delivered to the muscle.
With less signal, the muscle no longer folds excessively, which helps improve wrinkles that had been deepening with repetition. The nerve endings then regenerate, and function gradually returns.
Where We Use It
Even with the same ingredient, the concern it addresses depends on which muscle is treated, at what depth, and with how much. These are the areas Lumiin Dermatology treats most often.
Depth Matters
Whether the injection reaches the muscle layer or stays in the upper dermis completely changes the concerns it addresses.

Before You Decide
Changes usually begin to show around 7 days after treatment. We review your condition at around 2 weeks and add a small touch-up if needed.
The effect is reported to last about 3 months. We plan sessions at 3–4 month intervals accordingly, adjusting at your visit depending on the area and dose.
For a few hours on the day of treatment, do not rub or press on the injection sites. It is best to avoid heavy drinking, strenuous exercise, and saunas for about a day.
Find Your Treatment
Injection depth and dose vary with muscle development and skin condition. Through a one-on-one consultation, we plan only as much as you need.
