Aftercare Following Spot Blemish Treatments

※ If only the larger blemishes are treated, the surrounding untreated pigmentation can significantly reduce the visible result.

• 1.Laser-treated blemish areas: it is important to keep the healing tape we applied on for as long as possible (ideally 2 weeks).Keep the tape on while washing your face or applying makeup, and if it comes off, replace it with a new one.
• If you were prescribed an ointment, replace the healing tape once a day and apply the ointment.
• 2.After treatment, pigmentation may remain visible or even appear darker than before. (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation)

What is post-treatment pigmentation?

• It is a condition where the area looks darker than before treatment, or the pigment persists as if the treatment had no effect — a kind of wound-mark reaction.
• It varies greatly by skin type, and even on the same face it tends to occur on the forehead, under the eyes, the upper nose, the philtrum, the chin, and the outer contours of the face.

How does it progress?

• Since it is a wound-mark reaction, it usually improves naturally within 6 months if you carefully avoid sunlight while waiting.
• In more severe cases, laser toning treatment can help.
• If pigment roots remain after 6 months, retreatment is available (at a lower cost than the initial treatment).
• 3.Very rarely, hypopigmented patches — where the skin looks lighter than before — may appear after treatment.These also mostly recover within 6 months.
• 4.If you happen to be allergic to adhesive tape and the taped area becomes itchy or red, stop applying it and visit or contact the clinic to discuss.
